Benefits of Membership in Western Pennsylvania Woodworkers
Western Pennsylvania Woodworkers currently has about 100 members who enjoy woodworking and the products of woodworking. Some are professionals who exhibit in national shows, some simply enjoy the occasional building of a piece in their home workshop, and in either case, the result of your labor – an item of pride to be cherished, given as a gift or sold for a profit.

What do we do?
Currently, we hold meetings nine months of the year — usually on the second Saturday of the month (See Meetings & Events). We suspend regular meetings for the summer months but sometimes hold a special meeting or field trip over the summer. A regular meeting agenda generally includes a short business session; announcements of shows, exhibits, workshops, etc.; a question and answer session; a show and tell; and finally the main program. The main program is a formal demonstration or presentation, often by a member of the group, sometimes by an outside guest.
Once or twice per year, we also sponsor full day workshops.
The Board of Directors usually meets each month, often in conjunction with the regular monthly meetings. Any interested member is welcome to attend and participate in the discussions at Board meetings.
Our club offers quite extensive video tape and book libraries available free of charge for members.
Our monthly Newsletter reports coming events and summaries of past events. In addition, there are free advertisements posted for members offering materials and services of interest to woodworkers. Back copies can be downloaded from the Newsletters page of this website.
